They give the apostate Salman Rushdie a knighthood and now the kuffar give these apostates voices to promote freedom of speech and freedom of religion.

"Ex-Muslims" hoping to change the terms of debate about Islam in Europe will launch a British group in London on Thursday.
The activists, many of them Iranian exiles, support the freedom to criticise religion and the end to what they call "religious intimidation and threats"

Does that mean there is a shift away from "moderate" groups (like MCB) - or is this a tactic to bolster these groups - as people rally around them to oppose the secular apostate groups?

Both. It's easy to forget the Kufaar often use a multi-pronged approach to these things. Partly they'd try to dilute the Muslim voices in the media further by adding a few brown faced Kafirs to the mix in the hope of veering more people away from Islam but also if there's a massive backlash against the apostates (which can be expected) by mainstream Muslims, then the 'moderate' groups will push themselves forward as the mainstream Muslim representatives yet again. This was also highlighted in the old thread on this forum entitled "wolf in sheep's clothing warns Muslims about wolves" which is here:

These kind of groups do us a favour as they do not pretend to be Muslims when attacking Islam nor talk in the name of Islam unlike the vampires in robes, turbans and beards.
