Is America trying to show the world it is winning the War??

Over the last week or so, there has been the double news of success in the War on Terror. There has been the announcement of the capture of Senior al-Qaeda member Abdul Hadi al-Iraqi in Afghanistan and also the foiling of a massive Al-Qeeda strike by the Saudi Arabian Security forces.

Could this be a way for the Americans to show the world that it is winning this war on Terror (Islam)??

What do the brothers and sisters on the forum think??

WS - with recent events in the US with an increasing opinion of withdrawal from Iraq and the situation being unwinnable, the announcement of Hadi at this specific moment when he has been captured for at least many months now is conspicuous timing along with the 172 so-called al-qaeda linked people in Saudi.

I wonder if passing the guilty verdict on those guys in the UK today, also being hailed as a victory, was also not related to this.

Very good point brother.... I think that these timings are deliberate and not just a coincedance.

But Allah (swt) tells us in the Glorious Quran, that the disbeilevers plot and plan, but Allah is the best of planners.

I believe history is very important and if we look into the kuffar have no problems with a bomb going off here and there by some "terrorists".. what they are interested in is swaying public opinion at certain points in time to coincide with the political agendas in the domestic and international arenas.

So if there are jihadis willing to die for the cause (whether killing people in the west or anywhere is allowed or not is another matter), there kuffar will not hesitate to let them proceed if they can make a show of them...

what we really need is to have an army with fighter planes, ak47, RPGs, surface to surface and surface to air, heatseeking and guided weapons... now they don't need to technologically advanced as the kuffar but they need to be fighting for Islam in order repell the enemy from the Muslim land under an amir ul Jihaad... that is what is needed, not a bomb going off here and there killing innocent people.

I don't think it is correct to say the Americans are losing the war. But nonetheless, the war on "terror" is not producing the anticipated results, hence there is reduction in the use of the phrase "war on terror" and an attempt to wind up this part of the struggle and move onto a new strategy...
