This trial makes the Nuremberg trial look like a kangroo court.
Saddam was alway's going to be found guilty.
The trial was a total mockery and a insult to the Muslims intellect.
During the trial not once did the American approved prosecutor qustion Saddam on his relationship with America, what instructions did he recieve from them.
Nor did Saddam mention anything about his relationship with America.
America's involvement in Iraq etc,etc

This case has been a complete farce and a comedy show which would make a good viewing for the TV on a Saturday night.

We have to remember that the trial was heavily editted and was not live on the channels we watch so maybe Saddam did mentioned this and not shown.
If Saddam has been charged then his US buddies who supplied him with the weapons to kill innocent muslims should also be charged. But this is the hypocricy which the west lives in.
As for the verdict, it is a pre-planned judgement which will send a strong message to the other agents in the region to play ball to US's plans.
Another thing to mention is that maybe if the state was around a similar punishment would have been put on Saddam even though he decided to believe in Allah after being ditched by his pay-masters.

once again the timing of such events cannot be ignored, although the media has picked on this, could the timing of the verdict have anything to do with the mid term elections in america? i sure think so!

They were always going to execute him by finding him guilty on Dujail as the other charges such as the Invasion of Kuwait and gassing of the Kurds was bound to reveal America's involvement. Saddam could have brought it up but I don't think he wanted to go down in history as a Traitor.

Don't know if anyone has answer to this question:

If Saddam is killed would he gain the reward of a shahid and/or have his sins forgiven?

Don't know if anyone has answer to this question:

I don't know if iy would be possible to answer this question as it would be linked to his intentions after years of fighting Islam when he was in power, his position with regards to being an apostate, whether he re-embraced Islam etc.

In any case, our comment should be restricted to the political angle.

it is basically up to allah, whether he wishes to forgive saddam or not, and whether he wishes to give the status of shahid or not.

Former Foreign Secretary Malcolm Rifkind has accused the US of delaying the verdict in Saddam Hussein's trial to coincide with the mid-term polls.

Salaam

Once he was asked why he killed a mans wife and kids aswell as the man himself and he replied that he didn't wantto make the same mistake as YAZID.

Brothers you read between the lines and think what he meant and said, in his day he was a big NAWASIB.

Nawasib means a person who has hate for the Ahlulbeit i.e. the Family of the Prophet (PBUH) for whatever reason.

GOVERNMENT-BACKED Islamic organisation is teaching young Muslims that
dying while fighting for the British armed forces is an act of
martyrdom.
The British Muslim Forum (BMF) explains to young people that even if a
Muslim soldier dies in combat while fighting in an Islamic country such
as
Afghanistan, he will still be regarded as a martyr and a hero for this
country.

The BMF is holding talks across Britain to persuade young people not to
follow the teachings of Muslim extremists who instruct their followers
that
joining the British military is a “traitorous act”.

Its aim is to counter radicals’ misuse of the term “martyr”, which has
become associated with terrorist suicide operations. The BMF was a
leading
member in a taskforce set up by Tony Blair after the July 7 bombings to
combat extremism among Muslims.

In its forums its case workers and imams cite Lance-Corporal Jabron
Hashmi,
24, a British Pakistani from Birmingham who was killed in combat in
July in
Afghanistan.

Islamic extremists have called him a “salaried traitor” as he died
fighting
Taliban Muslims at the command of non-Muslim generals. They argue he
should
not have received an Islamic burial as he died an “infidel”.

However, BMF case workers counter that he died a martyr. “We are
calling him
a martyr because he died fighting for his country. Islam teaches us to
be
loyal and abide by the laws of the land. We believe fighting for
Britain is
not being a traitor. And young people are getting the message,” said
Khurshid Ahmed, the BMF’s chairman.

The BMF, a body representing 600 mosques, is one of Britain’s largest
Muslim
organisations. It is the government’s main working partner in the
Muslim
community.[/b]
